How The Wholesome Effect PM was born
To begin, I’d like to introduce myself and how I became a Dietitian and started my own business, The Wholesome Effect PM Dietetic and Nutrition Services Central Coast and online.
Hi, I’m Paris Mooney, an Accredited Practising Dietitian, Nutritionist, and Founder of The Wholesome Effect PM. I have two siblings; a dog named Fletch and live on Central Coast. I have always had a passion for fun, wholesome food.
During high school, I realised early on that I wanted to pursue a career in nutrition and Dietetics. Growing up and playing competitive sport, I became curious about how different foods including plant based nutrition that could impact my performance and how they provide the vitamins and minerals our bodies need. After graduating with a Nutrition Science degree, I continued my studies and completed a Master’s degree in Dietetics. Moving to the Central Coast and finishing my Master’s at Sydney University, I noticed a clear gap in the local nutrition space.
After many conversations with friends, I decided to take a chance on myself and begin The Wholesome Effect PM. Around that time, I happened to meet Jaydon and Mitch from The Hybrid HQ through mutual friends at a café and that moment really brought the idea to life. We shared a vision of changing the nutrition game on the Coast: moving away from rigid, outdated approaches and towards something more fun, person-centred, vibrant, and genuinely relatable.
That’s what I love most about what I do now. I get the time to truly connect with my clients, build strong rapport, and understand their individual goals and challenges. It’s not rushed or transactional, I’m able to follow up between sessions, provide ongoing support via email, and create a space where people feel heard, supported, and confident in their approach to nutrition.
Three things you might not know about me
I have played representative sport my whole life. A career highlight was being selected to play for Australia in the Trans-Tasman series for Touch Football, and most recently I completed my first marathon.
With a background in training and competition, as well as holding a Bachelors in Nutrition and Food Science and a Masters in nutrition and Dietetics, I integrate evidence-based nutritional guidance with a practical, person-centred methodology. Because you’re the expert on your own body, I’m here to guide, support, and simplify.
I love staying active with a mix of running, surfing, and playing touch football. I enjoy a hybrid approach to training that keeps things varied and fun. When I’m not on the move, I enjoy relaxing at the beach with a good book or spending quality time with my dog Fletch, friends, and family.

Watching my mum go through breast cancer, inspired my journey into studying nutrition.
I am passionate about delivering evidence-based, personalised care and am committed to ongoing professional development across key areas including women’s health, IBS, gut health, osteoporosis, bone health, and men’s health, allowing me to provide the highest level and evidence-based support to my clients.
My approach as a Dietitian
Dieting is in the past. My goal is to help you see nutrition in a new way, one that allows you to enjoy food while looking, feeling, and performing at your best. I take an evidence-based approach to weight management, focusing on sustainability, consistency, and long-term health rather than quick fixes. I’ll show you how to build balanced meals that keep you full, fuelled, and energised throughout the day.
One of my biggest goals for both myself and my clients is to feel at peace with food. Through my own nutrition journey, I’ve learnt how powerful it is to move away from constantly questioning food choices, battling hunger, or dealing with ongoing “food noise.” Instead, creating a calm, balanced relationship with food allows you to feel more regulated, in control, and confident in your choices. This sense of peace isn’t about perfection, it’s about consistency, trust, and enjoying food without guilt or stress.
As an athlete myself, I’m passionate about supporting other athletes and anyone working toward a goal. To understand how to fuel their body effectively. From everyday performance to game-day strategies like carbohydrate loading, injury prevention, and recovery, I help you use food as a tool to get the most out of your body.
As a Dietitian, my role is to take the guesswork out of nutrition. To simplify it. To make it practical, realistic, and tailored to you. Eat, enjoy, energise, evolve and fuel your life, the wholesome way.
